The Ministry of Education has given the Ghana Education Service the green light to advertise vacancies for teachers for the second-cycle institutions across the country.
All those who qualify to teach at the SHS must submit their application letters to the Regional Education office, from Monday,6th August to August 31st. This is purely for non-basic education holders.

Some 8,000 teaching Staff shall be recruited into the Public Senior High Schools in the Country for the 2018/19 Academic year in anticipation of a tremendous increase in the intake of first year students into the Senior High Schools in the 2018/19 Academic year.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made this revelation during a sod cutting event held at Janga on Saturday for the construction of the 25.7-kilometre Nasia to Janga Road, in the West Mamprusi District of the Region.
The President indicated, that the 2018/2019 academic year is expected to see a double of enrolment figures at the senior high school level due to the free education policy.
He further detailed that the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy in 2017/2018, saw some 90,000 more students been enrolled across various SHSs in the country.The President further indicated that this year, the number will be doubled to 180,000 .
He thereby emphasized that the employment of the supposed 8,000 teachers was to be able to take care of this additional number of students
