The midfielder is believed to have picked up the injury in his side’s 4-2 defeat to Osasuna over the weekend.
Wakaso despite lasting the entire game is expected to undergo a microsurgery tomorrow to correct the problem.
Deportivo Alaves confirmed the player could return to training in the cause of the week after his surgery.
“Wakaso Mubarak suffers a fracture in the metacarpus of his right hand according to IMQ, official insurer of the Baskonia Alavés Group,” the Club posted on their website.
“The Ghanaian player will undergo microsurgery tomorrow and is expected to return to training throughout this week. From the Club will be informed of its evolution on a daily basis.”
It is unclear whether he would be available for Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome e Principe.
Coach Kwesi Appiah named the 29-year-old in his 23-man squad for the double header.
